Looking at the reaction on Lyla’s face, Marcus realizes how much of a shock this is to her. He has been so wrapped up in his own life he forgot to take into account the things Lyla is going through and how she would feel about him leaving. To make matters worse, Crispen Duff is in this mix. Destry notices his change of expression and understands Marcus and Lyla need to be alone to discuss this life-changing event.

“I’m going to run upstairs, would either of you like something to drink?” Destry asks as she walks toward the spiral staircase.

“No, I’m good.” Says Lyla and Marcus nods no as well.

“I’ll be back shortly, just yell if you need anything.” Destry says as she leaves the area.

“I just realized where this leaves you.” Says Marcus as he comes around to Lyla’s side of the counter.

“Don’t you dare worry about me, Marcus.” Lyla states with a smile. “You two are meant to be together and Destry is right, you need to be where your work is in demand. You love what you do, you are very good at it, and you love her. All of those things are wonderful and you of anyone I know, deserve to be happy.”
